Red Hill won its first District premiership in three decades this season after chasing down Delacombe Park’s mammoth target of 307 with three overs to spare. Coach Simon Dart was the star performer with the bat scoring an incredible 133 not out and sharing a match winning partnership with Brent Martin (66). Cameo performances from Merifield, Esipoff and international Carl Robinson were also crucial. After being 3/74 the week before few outside the club would have given Red Hill any chance but the groups’ unshakeable belief shone through in a heated and competitive Grand Final.
